Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Technician will implement, advise and develop clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the school and sometimes community setting.

The Behavioral Technician will work in collaboration with a Behavior Analyst to develop plans, implement and collect data on skill acquisition and behavior reduction. Provide program monitoring and professional development to teachers and teacher assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional and behavioral programming strategies
  • Provide professional development on ABA and verbal Behavior content
  • Provide on-going feedback to program staff
  • Facilitate program monitoring
  • Implement programming fidelity checks
  • Administer Program competencies
  • Provide direct student care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of

intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.

  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction
  • Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student
  • Effectively communicate with Behavior Analyst regarding student progress as

instructed by the Behavior Analyst

  • Utilize safe & appropriate crisis management procedures when working with
  • Maintain student
  • Prepare student teaching materials as needed for student programming.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and learning
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required
  • Serves as chief source of information regarding student progress and behavior

  • Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols as
  • Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.



BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of
  • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper
  • Must have reliable transportation.



EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Experience working with children ages 0-18 in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational, Speech, or Health Services experience
