Job Description

Overview

The Instructional Supervisor manages the Title I instructional programs in  Northern Virginia  to ensure adherence to the Company educational standards; hires, trains and oversees the performance of teachers and assistants where applicable; assists with testing students, and oversees the conferencing of students, principals, classroom teachers and parents.  Works closely with the Regional Director and Instructional Excellence Coach to ensure the implementation of quality academic programming. Fosters  customer satisfaction through problem solving and frequent communication.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Facilitate customer satisfaction, program quality assurance, and student achievement.

  • Report concerns regarding instructional needs, materials and supplies.

  • Communicate with school principal and classroom teachers concerning program implementation.

  • Establish a positive professional rapport with school staff, and principals.

  • Convey customer service and program problems to the Regional Director or company management immediately.

  •  Share instructional issues and concerns with the Regional Director and regional Instructional Excellence Coach.

  • Continue to grow the program and work towards renewal of contracts and spenddown of budgeted funds.

  • Oversee the organization and management of the program inventories. Recommends, purchases, and monitors inventories of equipment and materials. 

  • Monitor adherence to federal and company guidelines and regulations, and the safety and professional appearance of the Title I classroom to facilitate a sound learning environment, through regular compliance and site visits.

  • Submit Monthly Reports to Regional Director, and other documents as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train, supervise, coach, and evaluate teachers regarding program requirements.  Supervision to include informal and formal lesson observations (formal to include Pre/PREP-conference, scheduled lesson observations and Post-conference.)

  • Provide assistance to teachers in the selection process of eligible Title I students.

  • Provide assistance to teachers in the development of class schedules and instructional strategies to meet the needs of all participating students.

  • Train and monitor for completion of parent and family engagement requirements.

  • Prepare presentations for Team Meeting to address both instructional and business issues, as required by the Regional Director, and professional development support.

  • Assist teachers with the completion and submission of company, or federal required forms.

  • Provide guidance to teachers with record keeping procedures and ensures that the Company required plans and reports are maintained and updated properly.


Job Requirements



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Requires a master's degree and valid teaching certificate. At least two years related supervisory experience in education. Must be able to teach all basic skills or other related areas and interact with students, parents, and administrators.


OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Has the ability to handle multiple priorities and travel between multiple school sites. Must be flexible and able to work independently. Must understand that all children can learn. Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards internal and external customers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must. Must have a working knowledge of technology hardware and software and be available to troubleshoot and train when necessary. 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
