Job Description

Overview

The paraprofessional works with students on the autism spectrum, implementing their educational and behavioral plans.


Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the implementation of academic instructional programs, class work and assessments for students.
  • Interacts daily with students.
  • Maintains positive classroom environment and monitors student behavior to keep them on task.
  • Maintains professional presentation.
  • Maintains student safety through behavioral interventions and hands-on interventions as needed.
  • Collects data throughout the course of the day in a Catalyst system via iPad.
  • Maintains confidentiality of co-workers, children, and families.

Job Requirements



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and interest and/or education in human services /special education fields. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. 2 years or 30 hrs of college experience preferred.
