Job Description


MASTER TEACHER/ INSTRUCTIONAL COACH with an active Florida Teaching Certificate, for the 2018-2019 school year.  A Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience working with K- 12 students in a school setting.

Master Teacher/ Instructional Coach will work collaboratively with school principals to provide job-embedded coaching and model best practices to improve teaching quality in the Elementary/Middle and/or High School classrooms. Coaches are responsible for conducting planning conferences, modeling lessons, co-teaching, analyzing data, reviewing student work and providing non-evaluative feedback and identifying classroom resources to support student achievement during regularly scheduled school days.

Coaches must be able to provide expert support in at least one of the areas below:

  • Increasing Engagement and Rigor
  • Best Practices for English Learners
  • Culture & Climate: Classroom Management
  • Differentiated Instruction
  • STEM/ Inquiry-Based Learning
  • Disciplinary Literacy

Required Skills

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the Florida State Standards
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and experience working with teachers as a mentor, coach, administrator, or instructional leader.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in effective teaching strategies and experience in preparing and presenting high quality, research based professional development.
  • Organizational and planning skills for setting both short term and long-range goals and for coordinating efforts for timely accomplishment of those goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the respect of peers and the ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships. 
  • Willingness to continually learn new information and skills related to student learning and achievement, including content areas that may be outside of current skill set
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology and instructional media tools
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changes

Ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills and be willing to travel to more than one school, if applicable.

Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Education or related field
  • Active Florida Teaching Certificate
  • At least 5 years experience working with K-12 students in a school setting
  • Able to pass local and national background check
