Job Description

Overview

Manage Child Study Teams providing Evaluation and Determination (Initial, Annual Review and ReEvaluation) services for students enrolled in nonpublic schools located throughout the state of New Jersey.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee performance and effectiveness of Child Study Team (CST) members to assure that teams function well and student and families are served.
  • Recruit, select, support, and if necessary, terminate our relationship with CST members – who typically are independent contractors
  • Possess and maintain current expertise with regard to NJ special education Code
  • Assign professionals to Teams and Teams to schools.
  • Assure that CST can demonstrate appropriate skills, and ability to meet the demands of contracted program. Responsible for staff development and performance management as needed.
  • Act as a role model for establishing appropriate positive morale and attitude toward work and organization.
  • Maintain appropriate and regular communication with staff.
  • Assist Case Managers to resolve problems quickly and effectively as they arise.
  • Assign students to Teams in accordance with anniversary dates and acquisition of required documents
  • Respond to all questions from Team members and school administrators regarding service process and Code requirements
  • Review, approve and finalize all Individual Service Plans as they are completed.
  • Function as a member of the central office team for Evaluation and Determination services – participating in all aspects of program management
  • Support program start up when we contract with new districts
  • Communicate regularly with the Regional Director and Regional Vice President.






Job Requirements



MUST possess:

  • Supervisor certificate from NJDOE;
  • minimum of 5 years functioning as an LDTC or Psychologist on a Child Study Team in New Jersey, including case management;
  • in depth knowledge regarding current NJ Special Education Code;
  • proficiency with Word, Excel, and web-based software
  • Experience as a district supervisor desirable
  • Availability for some travel within New Jersey
