Catapult Learning, LLC provides outsourced educational solutions to private and public schools nationwide.  The Company helps struggling K-12 students achieve higher by providing a blend of teacher-led instructional intervention services, specialized services and professional development programs designed to improve academic achievement and school performance.  The Company provides over 106,000 student services annually with approximately 400 contracts across 250 school districts and other educational agency accounts in approximately 26 states and the District of Columbia. The company is headquartered in Camden, NJ.


Under the direction of the Corporate Controller, the Charter School Manager will perform various accounting and finance functions for the managed charter schools including account maintenance, analysis, and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Managing the Accounting, Budgeting, Reporting, AP, and Payroll processes for 10 individual charter school entities.
  • Oversee a team of three, including the Staff Accountant, AP Coordinator and Payroll Coordinator.
  • Working with school administration to prepare and maintain budgets for each charter school.
  • Preparing monthly school level and consolidated financial statements.
  • Preparing regulatory and compliance reporting to various state and federal agencies.
  • Managing annual financial statement and compliance audits as well as annual tax return processes.
  • Managing state and federal grants, including the drawing down of funds and compliance reporting.
  • Overseeing cash management process for all schools.
  • Implementing and overseeing internal control processes and procedures.
  • Preparing monthly internal financial/budget reports to review with school directors.
  • Preparing monthly internal financial reports to distribute to corporate team.
  • Researching accounting and compliance issues.
  • Serving as a liaison between charter school administration/board and Catapult.

Job Requirements


  • Strong accounting background. Must have BS in Accounting AND minimum 3-5 years accounting/financial experience.
  • Very strong technical and automation skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel. Peachtree and other Microsoft Office programs a plus.
  • High degree of self-motivation to ensure adherence to timelines and to identify and implement efficiency and financial control improvements.
  • Independent worker with strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage a team and contribute to a team environment.
