Job Description


Serves eligible students enrolled at nonpublic schools in Paterson, NJ.  Provides intervention in areas of articulation, language, fluency, and voice as identified in a formal speech language evaluation. May provide screening and comprehensive evaluation if requested.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs and implements intervention programs which remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students.
  • Designs and implements the student’s individual service plan to address the student’s need.
  • Offers consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of student’s speech language goals.
  • Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine child’s speech/language competency, if requested.
  • Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of speech/language skills and generates reports.
  • Is knowledgeable concerning all policies and procedures as established for these services by the Company's Program Manual and the funding source.
  • Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.

Job Requirements


Master’s degree and NJDOE certification as a speech/language specialist required by contract. Experience in a school setting preferred.
