Job Description

Overview

Ability to work independently, under the required clinical supervision of an Speech Language Pathologist with their Certificate of Clinical Competency.  Motivated and well organized. Good communication skills with adults and students. 


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implements intervention programs which remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students.
  • Works with the Speech Language Pathologist and IEP Team to identify and implement the student’s intervention plan, individual service plan, or individual student plan most appropriate to address the student’s need.
  • Implements the student’s IEP in accordance with the defined treatment plan and focus
  • Uses available information from screenings and evaluations to direct treatment planning and service delivery, under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Serves as member of the school’s multidisciplinary team, if appropriate.
  • Is knowledgeable concerning all policies and procedures as established for these services by the Company's Program Manual, the funding source, and the individual school(s).
  • Completes required documentation and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.

Job Requirements



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant or as required by contract. Experience in a school setting and with school-age individuals preferred.


OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
