Overview

The Mentoring Program Site Managers will manage the mentoring program including the Student Mentors. The Site Manager is responsible for the oversight of the program at the school location, compliance, scheduling, program planning, and daily supervision which includes formation, support, guidance and evaluation of the Student Mentors. The Mentoring Program Site Manager will ensure the academic and social-emotional needs of the students are being met by the Student Mentors in either a ‘pull-out’ or ‘push-in’ model. Mentoring Program Site Managers will work closely with the school administration to meet the identified needs of the participating students, requiring the Mentoring Program Site Manager to be on-site during every mentoring session.


Responsibilities

The Mentoring Program Site Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing the overall program at the designated location(s)
  • Ensuring parental consent for participation is obtained and retained
  • Working with Student Mentors to establish goals for the students based upon their academic and social-emotional needs
  • Interacting with key school personnel, including the school administration and teachers
  • Adhering to and assuring compliance requirements (ie documentation, reporting) are met as set forth by the NYC Department of Education
  • Providing services directly to students with needs beyond the scope of the Student Mentors responsibilities
  • Additional responsibilities as needed and determined by the Mentoring Program Supervisor

Job Requirements



The successful candidate must be credentialed in a counseling area (e.g. social worker, guidance counselor). The Mentoring Program Site Manager must have excellent organizational and communication skills (oral, written, technological). The Mentoring Program Site Manager must be able to manage, coach, and evaluate the Student Mentors. Mentoring Program Site Managers must meet the requirements for clearance by the NYC Department of Education (including SAVE, CAR, and PETS approval).
