Overview

The High Road School of Prince George’s County is currently seeking dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Social Workers to assist students with a variety of behavioral and emotional disabilities. The High Road School of Prince George’s County is a non-public based placement, dedicated to assisting students with academic and behavioral needs.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of behavioral principles and intervention strategies for students with emotional disorders and learning deficiencies
  • Observe and record student behaviors and be able to assist teachers in modifying and differentiating instruction based on evidence based strategies.
  • Adherence to IEP guidelines and implement goals and objectives
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, administration, and parents to create a positive learning environment
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members.
  • Demonstrate structured and strong behavior management in accordance to the school behavior modification model
  • Effectively implement crisis and physical intervention procedures
  • Adherence to a high level of professional and ethical standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to work flexibly with other staff, and provide and receive timely constructive feedback.
  • Experience working with diverse students on a spectrum of cognitive levels.

Job Requirements



Must be a licensed social worker with at least two years experience in field.  Must have thorough knowledge of testing and evaluation techniques and competent in assessment procedures and interpretation of the results.

Ability to communicate with students, families and school personnel. Excellent time management, organizational, verbal and written communications skills are essential. Computer literacy preferred.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
