Overview

Catapult Learning is looking for a Director of Transportation Services to facilitate quality transportation services by overseeing and managing the day-to-day operation of this growing company, ensuring superior customer service, efficiency of operations and outstanding safety and reliability of staff and vehicles. In addition to managing the day to day operations, the successful candidate will grow the business to safely and profitably increase market share; serving new districts, families, organizations and students.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between contracted services, parents and schools
  • Handle end of month billing process for districts and private organizations from start to finish
  • Recruit, Interview, Select, Train, Motivate and Supervise a staff of 40-50 employees
  • Advise and collaborate with routing and dispatch team to ensure that student services are completed within company goals
  • Recommends efficient van routes and time schedules
  • Administer monthly staff, safety and administration meetings
  • Act as designated Crisis Intervention (CPI) instructor for the company
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of opportunities for internal process and customer satisfaction improvements
  • Respond to accidents involving company vehicles to ensure proper documentation is collected and completed
  • Manage Fleet Maintenance by coordinating with Fleet Maintenance team
  • Performs other duties and presentations as assigned

Job Requirements



  • Four-year college degree coupled with at least eight years of related experience in transportation, in sales and/or special education with a strong knowledge and understanding of special education, and a passion for it.
  • Experience supervising relevant staff
  • Must be able to bring parents, school personnel, and outside resources together to work effectively for children.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills are a must.
