Overview

This role directs all real estate activities for the schools group including market planning for new facilities, reinvestment needs of existing facilities, and managing the portfolio of existing facilities.  Directs the execution of the market plans through the procurement of locations, relocation and disposal of existing underperforming locations, and lease renegotiations and other portfolio management of existing properties.  Responsibilities include corporate locations and consulting on locations. 


Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Directs the improvement of our existing portfolio of properties through lease negotiations for additional tenure, shorter current term and reduced rents, and also manages property dispositions, condemnations and other miscellaneous property issues
  • Identifies and secures new sites for future business opportunities
  • Directs the flow of real estate transactions by coordinating the efforts of others (Real Estate Brokers, Legal and Operations)
  • Identifies and secures replacement sites for underperforming locations
  • Manage both external third party service providers and internal customers to ensure business units receive the appropriate service level and quality at the lowest possible cost.


Job Requirements



  • BA/BS degree in Real Estate, Business or other related field is preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in a corporate real estate environment overseeing and negotiating a portfolio of leases
  • Demonstrated knowledge of real estate development process including broker management, negotiation, real estate contracts, demographic analysis, financial analysis, site plans and zoning
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in market planning and implementation for freestanding “retail” real estate development preferably in education/school space
